I never make these posts but if you are low income / below the poverty line and have no problems maintaining a vegan diet,

Do it.
Sick of erasure?
Sick of being told about how much of a rich privileged fuckhead you are when in reality all you’ve eaten in the last week is $1 ramen for a week?
sick of being told by middle class people that veganism is a “middle class luxury” to try and derail you speaking about non human oppression when you have like $2.53 in your bank account to last you til next monday?

You are welcome to add your story too!
Like me for example, I wont go into too much detail but I live 2 times under the poverty line in Australia, which has consistently been in the top 10 highest costing countries to live in for the last 5-6 years. Right now in my household to feed 3 people we currently spend $180 a fortnight, which is $30 per person a week.
Plant based diets are easily accessible for the poor, you and I are proof so

Just to add my two cents (because that’s all I can afford.)
I am a nineteen year old second year college student. My family can’t afford to pay for me to study, so I work nights and weekends to raise enough money for tuition. (And sometimes have to dip into this fund to put food on my family’s table.)
My mom and sister (with whom I live) are not vegan. They have no interest in it whatsoever but respect my decision, which is great. But can I just say that they probably eat a vegetarian (sometimes even vegan) diet more often than not - especially towards the end of the month - because meat is just so damn expensive.
My sister is seventeen and sometimes complains that there’s no chicken in her stir fry, or that we’re eating pasta for the fourth night in a row.
How can people say that vegan diet is “so middle class” and that it’s “impossible on a budget” when I, who sometimes eats beans on toast for the last week until my paycheck comes in, am doing just fine without meat, dairy or eggs. It’s actually insulting sometimes. Stop putting down my lifestyle choices by erasing me, a poor vegan, just so you can eat a corpse without your conscience being bruised.
